What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapists do not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
Yoga therapists treat people.
Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga. (From the International Association of Yoga Therapy.)
Yoga is fundamentally about the reduction of suffering whether it exists on the physical, mental, or psycho-spiritual levels. Experiences of pain, challenge, and illness are an inevitable part of life as a human being. We may not be able to avoid this reality, but we do have control over our response.
Yoga therapists take the time to understand individuals as the multi-dimensional people that they are. Using the primary tools of yoga—breath, awareness, relaxation, simple movement, education, meditation, sound, prayer, and ritual—as well as teachings from Ayurveda (an ancient Indian medical system), yoga therapists work to empower individuals to respond to their situation in an appropriate, engaged, and intentional way.
Yoga does not exist for the sake of practice. It exists for the sake of the practitioner. I work with clients to identify the appropriate combination and adaptation of tools to meet their needs and respond to their own unique situation. Your practice should support you in whatever you’re going through. We will work together to ensure that your practice is relevant, transformative, and that it responds directly to your goals.

4-Session Yoga Therapy Package
In these sessions I work to understand who you are and what your unique needs and goals are. Through our conversations and work together, I design a yoga practice tailored just for you. This package includes:
- 4 (90-minute) sessions spread over 4-8 weeks
- complete intake (including postural analysis)
- email support throughout the duration of the sessions
- A personal yoga practice
This package can be purchased multiple times. In continuing sessions we work to refine your practice. I want to make sure it’s effective for you and that you understand the tools you’re using. I also support you in creating the discipline of regular practice.
Individual Yoga Therapy Session
Individual yoga therapy sessions are available to support ongoing students in their life and practice as needed.

General Private Session
This session is for anyone with questions about yoga and/or spirituality. In this 60-min one-on-one session, we will explore any area of practice in which you would like some individual attention and support.
